honoring the families we serve by giving back to our community

One of the things that makes MCKRE who we are is our commitment to our local community. We’ve found that our clients feel the same way. Each time we help a family buy or sell their home, we will donate $100 in their name to the MCKRE Gives Fund to be distributed to local non-profits. We couldn’t be more thrilled to both honor the families we serve and help those who make Carteret County a better place.

Take a peek at some of the incredible local non-profit initiatives we’ve had the privilege of working with:

In response to Hurricane Florence, our clients helped us raise enough money to donate over 80 brand new mattresses and box springs to locals who lost theirs in the storm.

Each year, MCKRE partners with the Friendly Market to host a celebration to raise toys for our local Toys for Tots chapter. In 2019, our community came together bringing in over 1,000 toys!

We love shining a spotlight on the local non-profits that make such a difference, including Tami Thomas of the MirIAM, pictured here.

As the temperatures dropped, our team raised money to purchase winter coats for local community members in need in partnership with our Keller Williams Market Center.

Mary Cheatham served on the board for SAFE House, which raised money for a brand new local domestic violence shelter.

After participating in Project Christmas Cheer in 2018 and 2019, MCKRE decided to hop on the planning board to lend a helping hand. Thanks to PCC, our Decembers now have a much deeper meaning.

Each May, MCKRE participates in KW Red Day, where we provide aid for many community staples, like the Carteret County Hospice House and Trinity Center.

We are so lucky to live in a place with such a fantastic school system. To say thank you, we love sending well-deserved treats and conducting giveaways for our awesome teachers.

In 2019, Mary Cheatham served as a judge for the Boys and Girls Club Youth of the Year. She had the privilege of hearing from a handful of deserving kids. We are lucky to have youth like these two gentlemen (pictured) in our community and we can’t wait to see what leadership opportunities await them!

MCKRE serves as the host for the annual Be Great Breakfast, which raises money for our local B&GC chapter. Last year, the breakfast raised $36,400 which allowed 18 kids to attend our local B&GC for a year.

A number of devastating hurricanes have ravished our country in recent years, and MCKRE has rallied alongside community members to put boots on the ground and lend a hand toward relief.

We were honored to sponsor the first inaugural Diamond City Gala, which raises funding for the Carteret Community Theatre. We’re looking forward to this year’s event in October 2020!
