MCKRE Volunteers at Camp Albemarle's Boundless Horizons
If you've ever wondered what a "day well spent" looks like on the Crystal Coast, picture this: painted birdhouses drying in the sun, an impromptu dance party breaking out mid-afternoon, and a group of campers eager to tell you their favorite thing about camp. That was our world for a day, and we were grateful to be involved.
Through MCKRE Gives, our team was thrilled to serve as the supporting sponsor of Camp Albemarle's Boundless Horizons Adventure Camp — and even more thrilled to roll up our sleeves and volunteer alongside the campers ourselves.
What Is Boundless Horizons Adventure Camp?
Camp Albemarle's Boundless Horizons Adventure Camp brings together children of all abilities to learn, play, grow, worship, and discover that everyone belongs. It's a mission built on inclusion, and spending just one day inside it made that mission come alive for our whole team.
Our Day Volunteering with Camp Albemarle
Last week, the MCKRE team spent the day volunteering directly with campers — painting birdhouses side by side, hosting a dance party that nobody saw coming (and everybody loved), and simply listening as campers shared their favorite parts of camp. Sometimes the best kind of community involvement is just showing up, getting a little paint on your hands, and being present.
Our cups are so full. To Camp Albemarle: thank you for putting on such an incredible initiative and for all you do for the kids and families of our local community.
What is MCKRE Gives?
Days like this one are exactly why MCKRE Gives exists. Here's how our initiative works:
- When a family buys or sells a home with Mary Cheatham King Real Estate, $100 from every closing is donated to the MCKRE Gives fund.
- At the end of each month, that fund is distributed to local nonprofits and individuals throughout Carteret County and the greater Crystal Coast.
- Since launching in 2020, MCKRE Gives has donated and raised over $508,000, supported 150+ local charities and organizations, and brought together more than 2,600 past clients and supporters who consider themselves stakeholders in the mission.
Sponsoring Camp Albemarle's Boundless Horizons Adventure Camp is one more chapter in that story — proof that real estate can be about more than closings and listings. It can be about showing up for the community that makes this coastline home.
Every Closing Gives Back
