A WATERFRONT STAPLE: RUDDY DUCK TAVERN

When Ruddy Duck Tavern opened 13 years ago, owners Fabian and Silvana Botta's mission was to establish a waterfront restaurant offering good food at good prices with good service. What customers have grown to count on is locally

sourced fresh produce, beef and seafood cooked beautifully with a homelike atmosphere. Fabian says, "Food is not a fad. It's not what everyone else is doing, it's about making food the right way — fresh and cooked to order, with consistency and correct portions so that it is delicious every time." The lunch or dinner item you fall in love with today will match your memory of how amazing it was when you come back and order it again whether it's the next day or the next year! Ruddy Duck has become a chosen favorite on the Morehead City waterfront, beloved by both locals and visitors who come back meal after meal, year after year, cementing its reputation as a neighborhood classic.

Hey, Botta fam!

MEAL PREP LIKE A PRO:

How Fabian and Silvana prep for the week at their house.

THEY ESTABLISH THEIR MENU:

PRO TIP: Choose one new recipe to make per week; however, don't tackle too many new ones at once. Including several nights of things you're comfortable making increases your prep speed and efficiency, while keeping things fresh and new at the same time!

THEY RATE EACH MEAL:

PRO TIP: Whether you print out your recipes or use a cookbook, have each member of your family rate that meal on a scale of 1-10, including a sentence justifying their number. When you look back to meal plan, you'll be able to see which recipes were a hit!

THEY REPURPOSE THEIR LEFTOVERS:

PRO TIP: Make it a game to use every last crumb of your leftovers. You can easily modify last night's extras so you're not eating the same meal twice, whether you transform your grilled chicken into pulled chicken tacos or throw together a beef stroganoff with leftover steak. Get creative, y'all!
