2025 Colors of the Year

By: Mary Cheatham King / 28 Jan 2025

The 2025 Colors of the Year are IN! And this year, it's all about balancing vibrancy with tranquility (and adding a little drama!).

Whether you're a fan of muted hues or deep jeweled tones, this year's selections include shades of browns and purples that are perfect for balancing vibrancy with tranquility. Some of this year's colors include: Pantone Mocha Mousse — a medium brown resembling whipped chocolate and coffee, Benjamin Moore Cinnamon Slate — a moody mix of rich plum and chocolate brown, and Dunn-Edwards Carmelized — an earthy terra-cotta neutral.

Below, we show you some of MCKRE's listings that incorporate shades of brown to give you some inspo for your own home:

1. 414 Holly Street, Emerald Isle — We virtually staged this new construction home to include a mix of dark and light cool toned woods to balance the white oak-inspired LVP floors and bring warmth to this space!

2. 535 E. Great Egret Way, Beaufort — This mocha-painted living space perfectly grounds this space filled with coastal-inspired staging for this new construction home!

3. 224 Hickory Shores Drive, Newport — Chocolate brown accent chairs pair perfectly with the neutral beige walls and counters in this charming home (plus, the arch doorway is to die for!).

4. 590 Marina Drive, Westport E-22, Pine Knoll Shores — Living on the coast, mocha brown complements the blues and greens of coastal decor like in this modern bedroom in Beacon's Reach!

5. 1435 Salter Path Rd, Grande Villas E7, Indian Beach — Pops of brown, like rich wood furniture (which is definitely making a comeback!) and draperies can help bring contrast to light walls and bedding/decor in this one of TWO primary suites at Grande Villas.
