Check out the page below for a Q&A with the Big Rock Kids Billfish Tournament director, Carlee Sharpe!
Q1: What is your mission statement?
A1: “The Big Rock Kids Billfish Tournament strives to promote sport fishing in the next generation of anglers & give back to Eastern NC children’s charities, specifically the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Coastal Plain.”
Q2: What services does your organization provide?
A2: “Big Rock Kids enables the next generation of anglers by teaching over 150 children the basic principles of fishing, and putting youth on the front lines of competitive sport fishing to get them hooked for life.”
Q3: What are some of the best ways for someone to support your organization?
A3: “Supporting Big Rock Kids is easy! You can enter the tournament with your kids, shop in our retail store, tell your friends about it, or volunteer with us.”
Q4: What is one thing that folks might not know about your organization?
A4: “The Big Rock Foundation is a non profit organization that to-date has given over $6.5 Million to local charities. We are fully funded by our tournament participants, retail customers, generous sponsors, and support from the community.”
Q5: Who is someone in your organization that you’d like to recognize for their hard work?
A5: “We would like to recognize each of participants, volunteers, and sponsors for producing a fantastic tournament. Without their support, Big Rock Kids would simply not be able to give back to children’s charities of Eastern NC.”
Q6: What do you love most about being a non-profit organization in Carteret County?
A6: “The support from the community is our favorite part of being a non-profit in Carteret County. Every smiling face on the waterfront brings us genuine joy! We encourage residents & visitors to be a part of Big Rock by purchasing a t-shirt, or visiting us on the Morehead City waterfront.”
